Color & Design – Autel Robotics Evo
While looking at any drone the first thing you notice is the colors, so Autel Robotics EVO comes with the color scheme of orange and black. Orange color is much eye-catching color which helps you find your drone if you landed it in the long grass and black color makes it more clear in the sky while the flight. So the color scheme is also generated for some purpose not just for appearance.
Portable Folding Design
Now lets come to the design of the drone, as it is a portable drone so it should be compact in size so Autel Robotics EVO has the folding body which makes it easier to carry around. The measurement of the drone is about 5.5 by 5.5 by 10.0 inches (HWD). it weighs about 2 pounds. The arms of the drone can be folded so you need to unfold before the flight of the drone.
Return To Home Function – Autel Robotics Evo
Another feature that is more like a safety feature so you should not have to worry about your drone, It is called RETURN TO HOME function. You can activate it manually so if you lost your connection with the drone will automatically come back to its take of position which is very cool.
The most important thing about the drone is battery life i.e what is the flight time of the drone, so it has a very good flight time of 26 mins per charge not the precisely as the company advertises but fair enough. For us, the Autel Robotics EVO review for the battery is good enough.
Obstacles Detection – Autel Robotics Evo
The sensors that are used to detect obstacles are pretty good feature which helps you to save the money you spend on the drone by not bumping into any hurdle and get broke. Obstacle detection sensors are embedded into the head and tail end of the craft of this Autel Robotics Evo that helps to avoid obstacles from going into the forward direction as well as backward direction.
Although the speed of the drone is dropped by these sensors when they are on it goes down to 22 miles per hour from 44 miles per hour. It has a similar flight speed with other competitor’s drones. The sensor on the backside of the drone doesn’t help you to prevent your drone bump into an obstacle when flying it manually. But it helps you when tracking any moving thing you.
Using your drone app you just need to draw a box around the subject you want your drone to follow. But there is a limitation with your drone tracking a moving subject and that is there are no upward and downward sensors so the Autel Robotics Evo drone can only track the subject in the forward and backward direction. But there are other drones which do have sensor around four sides like DJI MAVIC 2 family.
It is another important feature that allows you to set the area of the flight so the drone won’t get out of that area and will let your drone in your eyesight. You can set the limit of Autel Robotics Evo about 50 feet to the far most limit of 1640 feet and the drone stays between this area you specified and in the US you should have to know that you should have your drone in your eyesight and this feature will help you to not get into any sort of trouble.
You should have to know that the area you choose to fly your drone is valid or it is NO-FLY ZONE area because drone doesn’t remember that for you.
Autel Robotics EVO doesn’t have any internal storage, but it supports 32 GB micro memory card and it comes with the packing so no need to worry to buy a new SDcard. You can transfer your photos and videos by using a card reader or by using the micro USB cable.
Remote Controller – Autel Robotics Evo
This Autel Robotics Evo comes with the remote control if you are not using your phone. It has a clip that holds your phone on the top side of your drone and the remote is compact and also has a display screen of full color. Remote has two gears, one for exposure and the other one is for moving the camera.
There are buttons to capture the images and for video to start and end. Programable rear control for take-off and landing. RETURN TO HOME button is placed in the remote. Another button that has a pause sign on it by pressing this button the drone will stop and start hovering in the same place.
There is a display button by pressing that button the screen will switch to the camera live and show you the birdseye view, not like other drones because you can’t see anything of bird-eye view if you are not using your phone. But that 3.3-inch screen doesn’t support the touch screen. All settings can be changed and modified by using remote control.
The drone also has an ANDROID and IOS APP which helps you to control all the functions. App gives you full features of the drone comparing to the remote control but remote is not that bad. As our Autel Robotics EVO review, the remote control is not good for the take-off button it shows an error so you need to take off the old style which is very sick.
Resolution – Autel Robotics Evo
Now let’s talk about the camera, Autel Robotics EVO has a 4K video camera with a 12 mp image sensor. The video quality is good enough comparing to the competitors in the market place.
In general mode, the video quality is too good as it shows the details very precisely. However, our Autel Robotics EVO review for default profile is not that good as it shows too much sharpness making the video look awkward, but you don’t have to worry about this you can change it with your app by just adjusting back the sharpness as we suggest that this is the first thing you should when you buy Autel Robotics EVO.
There are many frame rates accessible. you can choose 30fps for a video look, 48fps for cinematic slow-motion, and 60fps for traditional half-speed playback. You’re also able to shoot at 2.7K resolution at any of those frame rates, at 1080p (2K) up to 120fps, and 720p as quickly as 240fps these features are pretty much awesome.
Rather than if you’re a pro and you like to grade your own video, no need to worry it also has a flat Log color profile accessible. Contrast is decreased, reducing highlights, so you got more space for the adjustments. But if you are not adjusting color correction the log footage doesn’t look good, Autel Robotics EVO review we suggest if you understand the advanced video editing only than you should use this. Visit Gallery to see the results of this drone camera.
For images, you can use RAW or JPG format with a resolution of 12 MP. The quality of image comparing to the modern age smartphone is good. You can capture images in good quality if you use this drone for daylight photography. However, if you want to print the photos taken by this camera it’s not that good. But if it is for facebook and Instagram it is pretty good.
Therefore, as per our Autel Robotics EVO review if you want to good image than there are other drones which have 1-inch image sensor and give you the good image quality but they are double the size of Autel Robotics EVO and bit expensive too so you need to rethink what you need a portable compact drone or good image quality.
